Debates

The debates were an excellent experience for the class. We showed a new performance and it was very wel done. Obviously, there were lot of things to improve, but as first time it was not bad.
In my opinion the first performance about "professionals teaching in schools"each team could have improved the vocabulary and the contrarguments, because sometimes the dialogue was repetitive. One of the team took advantage of feelings and emotions. They could have improved its arguments with more concrete researches. I think the winner was the team in favor of proffesionals teaching in schools, because they were more organized and clear.
As we could see the second performance had some problems and the time was not its friend. However, they could have improved the organization of the debate, because the members of the team did not have very clear when was her/his turn. Also, the vocabulary used could has improved. Eventough, I think this team was the winner because they were well informed and concrete in their examples. But, this second performance needed more time to consolidate issues, statistics and contrarguments. I have some things to say, because I was part of the team in favor of voluntary voting. It refers to young people in politics. But it is too long to write here, maybe I could have the chance tomorrow to talk about.

  1. I agree with you when you say that there are a lot of things that we have to improve but, to be the first English debate, I think it was excellent. However, we need more of these opportunities to discuss about topics that are interesting to us, as future teachers. Then, we could help to each other and learn from each other as educators and human beings.

  2. A nice, detailed response. But why are there so many spelling mistakes? Please check your spelling in MS Word next time.

    a correction:
In my opinion,* *each team in* the first performance about "professionals teaching in schools" could have improved *their* vocabulary and *counter-arguments*, because sometimes *they* repetitive.
